Roseville SC is known for the multi-sport competitive athlete since 1981. What we recognize is that some of our players are more committed than others and are seeking higher level playing opportunities. With the new Iron Rose Academy we are adding a tiered program for those players who wish to commit to the game of soccer 100% while maintaining their roots to our club. The best of both worlds, with a latter to move up or down, based on the player's development and period of life.
For the little aspiring Soccer Players who loves the game and just does not want to leave the ball alone!
The Roseville Premier U8 Academy is a soccer program designed for promising young players born in 2017. Its primary goal is to help these players transition from small-sided 4v4 games to full-sized 7v7 matches, with a focus on preparing them for competitive soccer and building confidence for competitive tryouts in May 2025.
Overview:
Duration: The U8 Academy runs from June though October, and January through May. It's a five-month program per season with an optional indoor program in November and December.
Transition to 7v7 Soccer: The program's main aim is to help players transition from small-sided 4v4 soccer games to full-sized 7v7 matches. This is an important step in a young player's development.
Selection Process: Unlike the Roseville Juniors program, the U8 Academy is selective. It chooses one group of boys and one group of girls based on their demonstrated maturity, skill, and passion for soccer.
Coaching: The Academy offers consistent coaching from US Soccer Federation-licensed coaches. This ensures that players receive high-quality training.
Competition: Players in the U8 Academy will compete in a Fall and Spring league. This competition provides a chance for players to apply their skills in real game situations.
Developmental Focus: While the program introduces a more professionalized approach to training, the primary focus of the U8 Academy remains on player development. It aims to impart technical skills, enhance the players' understanding of the game, and, most importantly, make soccer enjoyable. The ultimate goal is to instill a long-term love of the game in the young players..
