The Jo Meza Scholarship

Overview

 The Jo Meza Scholarship is available to graduating high school students who have participated in our Club as a player or referee prior to graduation.   

Beginning in 2014, in addition to these aforementioned scholarships, RYSC has decided to grant an At Large scholarship. The scholarship will go to a graduate who meets the same requirements described below and who will graduate from a high school and does not have to attend Woodcreek, Roseville, Oakmont, Antelope, or Granite Bay.   

The application period typically runs February 1-28, as defined by the RJUHSD Local Scholarship Program (https://www.rjuhsd.us/Page/750).

Requirements

  • Participation in RYSC as a player or referee
  • Have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Submit a completed application and essay
  • The completed application must be signed by a school official that verifies the applicant’s grade point average (GPA).

Instructions:

  1. Please complete the scholarship application, which can be found at by downloading the form HERE
  2. Obtain the required parental and high school counselor signatures. 
  3. Include an essay explaining “How has participating in soccer impacted my life?”  (The essay must be no longer then two typed written page using 12 point font in either Arial or Times New Roman.)
  4. Submit completed application packet to your high school College and Career Center Representative by February 28, 2021, in accordance with the RJUHSD Local Scholarship Program application process.  (For more information, please check with your high school College and Career Center Representative.) 
  5. Scholarship winners must submit proof of either enrollment in class or enlistment by mailing a copy to RYSC, PO Box 355, Roseville, CA, 95678, Attn: Scholarship Committee.  Upon receipt of these documents your awards will be mailed to you.

The Roseville Youth Sports Coalition Scholarship

Overview

The Roseville Youth Sports Coalition (YSC) is a unique partnership between RYSC and other local independent youth sports providers and the City of Roseville.  RYSC and other youth sports partners provide athletic activities, opportunities, and competition for participants; the City provides game and practice fields for the partners.

Each year, the YSC offers two scholarship opportunities in addition to the scholarships awarded by the Club.  

  • First, the RYSC Club will select an applicant to receive a $500 scholarship from the YSC.
  • Second, the YSC will award an additional $1,000.00 Merit Scholarship to one of the candidates submitted by all of the member leagues.
  • To be considered for either of these opportunities, you must meet the YSC Scholarship Program requirements below and submit the YSC Scholarship Program Application separate from the RYSC Jo Mesa Scholarship process/application.  Click here for the YSC Scholarship Application.


YSC Scholarship Program Requirements:

  • Must be a senior in high school
  • Must have participated and be approved by the RYSC Club
  • Include a letter(s) of recommendation from a coach/teacher/mentor/etc.
  • Participation in community activities, service, programs, projects
  • Has contributed to the league (i.e., referee, coach, train, assist, mentor, volunteer)
  • Grade Point Average greater than or equal to a 3.50 (provide copy of cumulative transcript or have school counselor signoff)
  • Submit an essay on the topic, “How Youth Sports Influenced/Changed My Life” (one page maximum, single-spaced, 12-point font)
  • Complete and submit a YSC Scholarship Program Application.

  2. Include letter(s) of recommendation from a coach/teacher/mentor/etc.
  3. Obtain the required parental and high school counselor signatures.
  4. Include an essay explaining “How Youth Sports Influenced/Changed My Life” (one page maximum, single-spaced, 12-point font)
  5. Send application with all of the required components to RYSC, PO Box 355, Roseville, CA, 95678, Attention: Scholarship Committee, postmarked by March 26, 2023.  Please also email an electronic copy to  secretary@rosevillesoccer.com

Financial Aid

Our Mission

Our mission is that no player for will be denied the ability to play based on financial hardship, their ethnicity or their background.


If approved for our financial aid program, RYSC will waive your player’s registration fee and ask that you volunteer for the Club a minimum of 4 hours. The Club has a variety of opportunities volunteer hours including field rehabilitation, equipment handout events, tournament help, etc.

Note: the request form below is used for Recreational soccer as well as soccer camps.  Competitive soccer players playing with the Roseville Premier program should discuss with their team's coach.
