Concussion Protocol

Safety First. Always.

Roseville SC has the safety of our players as our #1 priority. We adhere strictly to the US Club NorCal Premier guidelines set forward in the 2018 mandatory concussion protocols.

Visit the Norcal Premier Concussion Protocol Page to learn more.

In the case of a possible concussion

The Concussion Notification Form is to be filled out in duplicate and signed by a team official of the player’s team. The document should be emailed to: doc@rosevillesoccer.com

If a parent/legal guardian of the player is present, have the parent/legal guardian sign and date the Form, and give the parent/legal guardian one copy of the completed Form. If the parent/legal guardian is not present, then the team official is responsible for notifying the parent/legal guardian ASAP by phone or email and then submitting the Form to the parent/legal guardian by email or mail.

When the parent/guardian is not present, the team official must make record of how and when the parent/legal guardian was notified. The notification will include a request for the parent/legal guardian to provide confirmation and completion of the Concussion Notification Form whether in writing or electronically.

The team official must surrender the player pass to a League representative upon injury. The player pass will not be returned until a Medical Release has been received.

Players may wear their jersey, but must not be in full uniform until the League has received the Medical Release and the pass has been returned to the team official.

COVID/Illness Guidelines

COVID-19 Guidelines

RYSC loves the game of soccer and is committed to doing everything it can to provide a fun, safe, supporting, and competitive soccer experience for its players, parents, and coaches.  Accordingly, RYSC asks the following of its players, parents, and coaches:

  • Use Common Sense when it Comes to Illness – Players, parents, and coaches who are not feeling well should stay away from athletic competition and team events.
  • Confirmed COVID-Positive Tests Should Quarantine – In the event that a player, parent, or coach tests positive for COVID-19, that individual and his/her immediate family should quarantine per current CDC guidelines.
  • Coaches Shall Determine if/when Team Events Should be Cancelled – In the event of a team outbreak or illness, coaches may determine to cancel practices and/or games. In the event that a team will not be able to participate in a game, the coach is asked to notify RYSC (scheduling@rosevillesoccer.com) as far in advance as possible.  Games will not be rescheduled, but informing the Club and one’s opponent is the right thing to do.
  • Parents/Guardians are Empowered to Keep Children from Events – RYSC and its coaches will do the best they can to provide a safe environment for soccer, but soccer is a team sport and any time there is a gathering of people, there is a risk of exposure to transmissible disease.  Each parent/guardian may decide for him/herself that his/her child should refrain from team events.

RYSC notes that local, state and federal guidelines regarding COVID-19 have evolved during the course of the pandemic.  Should they change again, this policy should not be read as an attempt to circumvent updated jurisdictional guidance.
