All coaches (head & assistant) are required to have a LiveScan on file with RYSC. RYSC has arranged for LiveScan representatives to attend the Coaches Meeting and you can have it done while at the meeting. Forms will be available at the coaches meeting but if you click the link below and print out the form in advance, it will help with the preparations. Additionally you must bring a valid photo ID (Drivers License preferred, Passport accepted)
Note: It does not matter if you were LiveScanned for a different organization, it is still required to have one specifically for RYSC.
NOTE: If you had a LiveScan done for RYSC in 2021 or 2022, those are still valid and no further action is required.
The 2023 Coaches meeting was be held on Tuesday July 25th at the Maidu Community Center.
If you missed it, the presentation can be viewed by clicking the links below:
Team Rosters are being finalized. When they are available, they will be visible within the GotSport system. Be sure to look at Team Management -> Rosters -> and filter for 2023 Rec Season. DO NOT look at Team Members as this may show a mix of players on the current and prior year. We find GotSport works best on a desktop instead of mobile.
The club calendar is published on the calendar page of our website. Note, you may need to be using Google Chrome as your web browser to be able to view as it is an embedded google calendar. This provides the latest available information on various milestones for the season.
If you have the first or last game of the day on a field, you will likely have responsibility to pickup or drop off field equipment. Visit our Field Equipment page to learn more
Visit the Game Schedule page of our website by clicking below to find your schedule.
The first half of the season schedule is typically published about one week before the first games. The second half of the season schedule will be published during the mid-season break after re-seeding teams based on first half results.
Game card information and how to report scores varies by age group. Generally for U9+ games the home team on the schedule (the team listed first on the schedule) is responsible to provide the game card to the referee.
Visit the link below for complete instructions.
Every great coach has a Team Manager backing them up making sure everything runs smoothly. Direct your Team Manager to our complete webpage dedicated to them with tips and tricks to get the job done.
A spreadsheet will be published to coaches with a list of available times and parks open to each age group. Coaches then need to select the practice schedules that fit the team's needs from the available open spots. This spreadsheet will come from the club scheduler via email when available. Below are the tentative dates when the practice schedule spreadsheet is expected for the 2023 season:
July 20th: for coaches who manage 3 or more teams
July 23rd: for coaches who manage 2 teams
July 26th: for coaches who manage 1 team
Practices can begin the week of August 7th
If you haven't received a message from the scheduler to book your practice times by the date above, please send an email to scheduling@rosevillesoccer.com

Every year at the half way point of the season, RYSC hosts the "At the Break" tournament for recreational teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a minimum of 3 games in one weekend (and four if you make the final).
Often times these tournament experiences are the ones kids remember the most fondly and it's great teambuilding
RYSC has a master account for TeamSnap. Every team will be set up by the club and the coaches will receive an invitation. The team coaches must then invite your entire roster to join your team on TeamSnap. This is an important step because RYSC uses TeamSnap to send out communications to the entire club during the season and if you are not properly set up you won't receive those notifications. It's a super useful app to manage your schedule & communications directly with your team.
We know volunteering to coach is a commitment that you make so the kids can play. As a small token of our thanks, RYSC will provide a 100% refund for 1 registration fee to the head coach of the team. This is limited to one refund per team and thus not available for assistant coaches. Teams with "multiple head coaches" will have the refund applied to the first coach listed in GotSport. These refunds are typically processed in Mid-September after the season has started and the registrar has more time to complete this task.

Coaches will have access to our full online training session planner. The training sessions are based on the club curriculum so coaches can focus on teaching the game, and not creating training session from scratch. At the same time, all players are being taught the same style, with the same methods and principles. Better coaches lead to better players, which means better experience.
We will have several coaching education courses per game level, where recreational volunteer coaches will learn from our technical staff how to run a field training session, be given session ideas and lots of tips and tools to run a fun, successful season.
This season we also plan scrimmages to teach 'how to coach in the game.'
You do not have to be a pro to coach recreational soccer.
RYSC assists every step of the way.All volunteer coaches are assigned a coaching director as well as a technical coaching director. Have a question before the season or mid-season? Help is one phone call or email away.
