Team coaches are the unsung heroes of our program. RYSC has a team of technical staff on call to help coaches of all experience levels. Head coaches and assistant coaches are required to register and pass a background check. Head coaches will receive a refund for the registration fee of their child after teams are formed and all background checks are in place.

Now that registration is closed, we know everyone is excited to learn details of your season. Here is a timeline of activities to expect:
If you are a player, the first communications you receive about the season will be from your coach in early August. In the meantime, please be sure to purchase your uniform from Kombat Soccer and review our FAQ's below for useful information like what size ball to use, how long are games, is heading allowed, and much more.
RYSC has partnered with Kombat soccer to provide uniforms for the club. Uniforms first used in the 2021 Fall season are the same style for 2022, thus can be re-used or handed down for the 2022 season.
The Uniform order form will ask you what number you would like. In Recreational soccer there is no requirement for a unique number so you can ask for your favorite number. If this field is left blank, a random number will be assigned to you.
The registration fee is $130 for the 2022 season when registering before the deadline of June 1st. Late registrations are subject to a waitlist and a $25 late fee.
You will be required to upload a copy of your player's birth certificate while registering. Please have this digital copy available before you begin. Hospital and Baptismal certificates are not accepted. It must be an official copy or passport. If yours is lost, damaged, or stolen, you will need to work with the California Department of Vital Records in obtaining a replacement.
You will be required to upload a digital photo while registering. Please have this available before you begin. No hats, no sunglasses and please only a photo of the face.
The registration system for 2022 is the same as 2021, thus your information previously entered should transfer over. New pictures are required each (since the kids grow so fast).
Our mission as a club is that no player will be denied the ability to play soccer based on financial hardship, their ethnicity, or their background.
If approved for our financial aid program, RYSC will waive your player’s registration fee and ask that you volunteer for the Club a minimum of 4 hours. The Club has a variety of opportunities volunteer hours including field rehabilitation, equipment handout events, tournament help, etc.

Most soccer players in RYSC play at the Recreation level. For those players in age groups U9-U19 who are looking for more of a challenge and possess the skills necessary to compete at that level can tryout for Competitive teams with Roseville Premier, the competitive side out our club. Those interested MUST attend Competitive level tryouts to be eligible to play. Tryouts are held in the spring of each year.
Yes, any registration for rec soccer received for a player who tried out for Comp but did not make a team will be guaranteed a recreational spot if the registration is received prior to June 1st.
Team assignments are finalized in July and the team lists will be given to the coaches at their first meeting at the end of July.
Most coaches will begin calling their team members within a week of getting their roster. Practices typically begin the 2nd week of August.
Note: the coaches determine the practice schedule
The photos are used to make “player cards”, which the referees check before each game to verify that the player belongs on the team. We need current pictures of each player.
We need an official copy of the birth certificate to verify age. At these young age groups, even one year of developmental difference can have a huge impact on fairness of the game.
We can not accept “unofficial” birth certificates issued by a hospital.
U6-U8: Size 3
U9-U12: Size 4
U13+: Size 5
For players in the U12 and older age groups, heading of the ball is allowed.
For players in the U11 and younger age groups, intentional heading of the ball is not allowed and is sanctioned by an indirect free kick.
NOTE: if any player from a U11 age group or younger plays up into a U12+ match, that player must be identified to the official and cannot intentionally head the ball.
Our referee assignors work to supply three referees for all U11 through U19 games, and one referee for all U9 & U10 games. The 4v4 games played by U6-8 ages are officiated by the coaches.
There is a referee shortage across the region and we expect some games to not have official referees. In these instances the home team should provide a volunteer parent. RYSC offers training for parent volunteers. Contact us at referee.assignor@rosevillesoccer.com for more info on training opportunities.
The club prides ourselves on providing a quality experience to our members. We've learned the hard way that there is a limit to the number of teams we can support with the available fields in Roseville. As city builds new parks, we expect to be able to support growth in the future. You can best support our efforts here by communicating the need for increased field availability to your city council representative.
RYSC is by far the biggest recreational program in the region but there are simply limits to the available resources while still providing a good experience without additional parks from the city.
